The AWD-Arena has a capacity of 50,000. The FIFA Confederations Cup took place here in summer 2005. In 2006, the AWD-Arena hosted 5 matches of the FIFA World Cup. Official finance optimizer of the German Olympic team
The DOSB has really given AWD a seal of approval with the title of "Official Finance Optimizer of the German Olympic Team".
AWD has been a partner of the Germany Olympic team since the 2004 Olympics Games in Athens, so also at the following Olympic Games too:

Team sponsorship in amateur sport
AWD has been not just been committed to professional sport for years, but also to local clubs in amateur sport and disabled sport. It is often the case that successful children's work or youth work and disabled sport is only possible with financial support. For this reason, AWD has previously supported more than 1,750 local clubs with a sponsoring commitment.
